An old timer told me that this brew passed all the alcohol limits during prohibition and it became a favorite in spite of sort of an odd taste. It seems it cured all sorts of aches and pains, especially for women on a monthly basis. It had a secret ingredient described as a tropical herb extract, years later thought to have been cocaine.
